For me, summer was a time to step back and examine where I want to take life. I suspect that amidst so much change and uncertainty you can relate.
One of the lessons I learned is that I need to live in line with my values.
Here’s what happened two weeks ago…
After three separate camping trips I was ready to dive back into my work. However, my wife, Tanya, says let’s go camping one more time and teach the kids how to fish.
My response was less than enthusiastic. I grumbled and reluctantly agreed. I learned long ago that it is important to listen to my wife, and I am glad I did!
That trip ended up being the highlight of my summer, and seeing our youngest son catch his first fish will stay with me forever. I understood that work will always be there, but my kids will not always be kids.
Now… as fall approaches I recognize the need to bring more balance to my life rather than just immerse myself into my work.
What do you value?
What do you need to do to bring a sense of balance and wellness into your life?
